Minister Arlene Berry
Youth Pastor
Arlene Berry was born and raised in New Bern, North Carolina. She has been a member of the UPHC Inc. since becoming a Christian. The first four years of membership was spent at UPHC-F Street under the leadership of the late Pastor Clinton Banks, Sr. In 1975 she became the youngest ordained minister in the church. She remained at UPHC-F Street until the church closed its doors.
In 1977 she became a member of UPHC-Rocky Run under the leader ship of Pastor Clarence Flowers, Jr. and assistant Pastor Mary L. Simmons. Today she continues to serve the church in any capacity necessary standing on her motto, "United we stand; Together we can." In January of 2000 she was ordained as Youth Pastor of Rocky Run by the General Overseer, Senior Bishop Clarence J. Flowers.
Minister Berry recently received her Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Leadership and Ministry with a concentration in Pastoral Ministry. She is currently pursuing certification in addiction counseling. Her goal is to be trained and equipped to effectively minster to, assist, and counsel those in need.
Minster Berry has enjoyed her ten year tenure with the Rock's youth department realizing that the youth of today encounter many issues that were not prevalent years ago. She uses her time to help youth realize their need to know Jesus Christ. She also lets them know how vital it is to be your own person and walk in God's plan for them.
Minister Berry understands that every test and storm that God allowed in her life had purpose. She believes that God delivers us so that we can help others. She passionately encourages others to stand firm and reminds them to "live beyond yesterday" because God has a plan for their life. Her aspiration is to be fully equipped to assist those in need. She proclaims that having knowledge is great, but having the anointing is "the greatest of all."
